This work originates from my memory of encountering Toshihiro Yashiro’s KAI-TEN-KAI (Rotation Cycle) during my student years. I was deeply struck by the sensation of forms collapsing, overlapping, and transforming into new states through the act of rotation.
In creating this work, I layered dynamic, sweeping circular strokes to physically re-experience the energy generated by rotational movement and to understand Yashiro’s theory through the body rather than through intellectual analysis alone.
This approach resonates with my own worldview: the belief that all forms exist in a constant state of transformation. Rotation becomes more than a physical movement; it serves as a metaphor for a world in which nothing remains fixed, where creation and dissolution continuously unfold as part of an ongoing cycle of change.
