Across the Night emerged from the memory of seeing the Milky Way while camping. The work does not attempt to represent the night sky directly; instead, it translates the experience of vastness, movement, and depth into the language of monoprint.
The large scale is central to the piece. By expanding the image, I wanted to suggest the physical and perceptual presence of the night sky—an environment that feels immersive, extending beyond the viewer’s immediate field of vision. In this way, the work becomes less an image of the sky than an evocation of standing beneath it.
