This series originates from my experience as a textile designer and my longstanding interest in repetition, rhythm, and surface structure. Inspired by the woven patterns and directional movements found in textiles, I sought to translate these qualities into printmaking.
Rather than using a brush, I developed a process that employs custom-made tools and direct mark-making methods to create distinctive textures on the plate. The resulting lines oscillate between order and spontaneity, evoking woven structures, flowing currents, and traces of movement simultaneously.
My background in textile design has shaped my awareness of how surface can influence both visual perception and physical experience. In this series, I combine that sensibility with the material qualities of printmaking, using pressure, ink, and repetition to investigate the relationship between structure, transformation, and the act of making.
